Greetings Sorors:
I hope 2008 has been a great year for
you to date. The Southeastern Regional Conference will be held in Atlanta,
Georgia. At
this year’s Undergraduate Luncheon, we will recognize the achievements of the
Young Women in Sigma. The luncheon will place the undergraduates and the
Rhoers, who are future Sigma Women in training, in a position of honor. Awards
and special recognition will be given to undergraduate participants who
respond with information on chapter achievements in the following areas:
1. The Southeast Region Rhoer to
Soror Roll of Distinction: This
recognition will be given to former Rhoers who are now Sorors in good standing
in an
undergraduate chapter.
2. Undergraduate to Graduate Chapter
Transfers: This recognition will be
given to Sorors who recently graduated (2006) and transferred to a graduate
chapter.
3. Undergraduate Chapter Scholastic
Achievements: Undergraduate chapters
who maintain the highest GPA of all Greek letter organizations on the campus
(or among NPHC organizations) will be recognized for scholastic achievement.
4. Sigma Scholastic Honors Award:
Undergraduate Sorors who maintain a 4.0
cumulative grade point average will be recognized for excellence in academic
endeavors.
5. Honorable Mentions: If your
chapter won any campus awards for campus
or community service or received any awards from the local community, please
send in the documentation for honorable mention.
6. Advisor of the Year: Undergraduate
chapters are asked to send in a
letter explaining why their advisor should be named the advisor of the year.
Entries will be judged by a panel of sorors from across the region and the
advisor will be recognized at the luncheon.
7. Undergraduate Attendance Award:
This award will be given to the chapter
who has the most sorors registered and in attendance at the regional
conference.
8. Outstanding Undergraduate Chapter:
Submissions for this award must be
sent to the committee chairperson.
I will accept electronic photos (jpeg
or gif), copies of letters (pdf or
photocopied), news clippings (scanned image or original), etc. All Sorors are
encouraged to send a photograph of the individual or the chapter receiving an
award for the power point presentation to Griena.
Please send verification of GPA, copy of transcript or letter from Greek
Affairs office, or any of the above information to your UCC at the address
above. The deadline for all awards or recognitions is March 1, 2009.
Thank you in advance for your response.
