"FRIENDS OF SIGMA"
The Philo Affiliate were established in 1943 when Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. officially organized the affiliate group and gave them the name "Philo", meaning "friend" in Latin. The Philo Affiliates have dedicated countless hours in community service across the Southeast and worldwide. They work closely with our Graduate chapters in supporting the national service projects of our organization.
The Rhoers Club is an affiliate group of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., consisting of young ladies between 12 and 18 who have demonstrated high scholastic achievement. A Graduate Chapter oversees the Rhoers Club. It is geared towards providing young women with the energy, support, commitment, and encouragement to help them develop and succeed in their life's endeavors.
Graduate Chapters offer their Rhoers opportunities for training and guidance in education, community service, and sisterhood amongst other young women their age. The Sorority, as a whole, strives to assist Rhoer members in developing a positive, effective, and healthy attitude towards life and society!
The Rhosebud Club is for any young girl between the ages of 8 and 11 years old. Just like the petals of a rose, the Rhosebuds are handled with special care and attention.
It is with great honor that the local Graduate Chapters can play a role in helping support young girls as they grow up into the young ladies of the future. We know that the future is in the hands of our children, and we strive to cultivate our Rhosebuds into becoming well-educated, well-rounded, and productive citizens.
